In the southern part of Cusco there are beautiful attractions that you can not miss such as the archaeological remains of Pikillaqta and Tipon, as well as Andahuaylillas where we will visit the Church called the Sistine Chapel of America.
There are many interesting towns that have impressive archaeological remains, during this circuit to the south Cusco valley we will start with Tipón and its extensive Inca terraces, with irrigation systems that flow into altars evoked by water.
Within the route we can find the villages of Oropesa, Huaro, and Andahuaylillas. Inside of them we will find colonial churches with wonderful pulpitos and baroque arts. One of the most important churches that we will find within this route is that of Andahuaylillas, better known as “Sistine Chapel”.
Another particular detail of the sures Valley that we will find the Huacarpay Lagoon, full of particular plant species and endemic animals. During this brief tour of the lagoon we will have access to the archaeological park of Pikillaqta, one of the three most important cities of the pre-Inca Wari culture.
